DESCRIPTION: KAI investigates and compiles fundamental material and process properties by micro scale experiments in order to create the basis for future commercial implementation of advanced material systems and integration processes. KAI investigates the long-term behavior of power electronics under extreme electrical an thermal stress, as required in challenging automotive and industrial applications. KAI focuses on the research and development of safety and performance monitoring in automotive applications, escpecially on advanced magnetic speed sensors and RF capacitive sensor systems. OBJECTIVES KAI will bundle up the knowledge of our industrial partners and combine it with basic scientifc research efforts on the above mentioned selected areas, in order to strengthen the Austrian position of manufacturing excellence and technology leadership in the area of reliable automotive and industrial electronic components on the competitive international marketplace. TYPE AND QUALIFICATION OF CO-OPERATION PARTNER: For the concepts described above, KAI requires interdisciplinary activities, which can be carried out best in close cooperation between industry and academia. Our business partners are organized vertically along the value chain.
