ERA-Net Smart Grids Plus -  Full Proposal Phase

The ERA-Net Smart Grids Plus will advance the integration of smart grids system technologies, stakeholder adoption and market processes to help Europe make progress towards achieving its short-term 2020, medium-term 2035 and long-term 2050 energy targets. Cross-sectorial and interdisciplinary system innovation will be essential to realising these targets.

ERA-Net Smart Grids Plus will promote piloting and demonstration in the field of smart grids. Focus will be given to validation, scale-up and replication. The three research layers of Stakeholder/Adoption, Marketplace and Technology (see section 3.1 of the call text) should be an integrated part of this focus. The aim is to push solutions to meet Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs, see definitions in Annex C) 5-6 to TRLs 6-7.

The total funding available for ERA-Net Smart Grids Plus projects amounts to approximately  €24 million, made up of national/regional budgets contribution.

Proposal deadline: 15 June 2016, 14:00 CEST

Preliminary national/regional eligibility check: 30 June 2016

Change of ineligible partner deadline: 25 August 2016, 14:00 CEST

Second preliminary nation-al/regional eligibility check: 7 September 2016

Deadline funding decision feedback: 19 December 2016

Expected project start: 1 Feb. – 1 April 2017

Verfügbare Förderungsinstrumente für österreichische ProjektpartnerInnen

In den einzelnen Forschungskategorien des ERA-Net Smart Grids Plus ist für österreichische ProjektpartnerInnen (Main Applicant bzw. Co-Applicant) folgendes Förderungsinstrument verfügbar:

Kooperative F&E Projekte – Transnationale Ausschreibungen

Aufgrund der Aktualisierung des Instrumentenleitfaden auf Basis der FTI – Richtlinie 2015 kommt es zu einer Erhöhung der Förderquote für Forschungseinrichtungen und einer Reduktion des geforderten Mindestanteils der Forschungseinrichtungen an den Gesamtkosten. Das Kooperationskriterium muss auf Ebene des transnationalen Konsortiums erfüllt werden. Bitte beachten Sie die im Instrumentenleitfaden angegebenen Kooperationsanforderungen!

Die Basis zur Kostenanerkennung der österreichischen ProjektpartnerInnen bildet der "Kostenleitfaden zur Behandlung der Projektkosten in Förderungsansuchen und Berichten" (Kostenleitfaden Version 2.0).

Rechtsgrundlagen für österreichische ProjektpartnerInnen

Als Rechtsgrundlage kommt die RICHTLINIE zur Förderung der wirtschaftlich – technischen Forschung, Technologieentwicklung und Innovation (FTI – Richtlinie 2015) Themen-FTI-RL des Bundesministers für Verkehr, Innovation und Technologie (GZ BMVIT-609.986/0011-III/I2/2014) und des Bundesministers für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Wirtschaft (GZ BMWFW-97.005/0003-C1/9/2014) mit Geltung ab 1. 1. 2015 zur Anwendung.

Bezüglich der Unternehmensgröße ist die jeweils geltende KMU-Definition gemäß EU-Wettbewerbsrecht ausschlaggebend (ab 1. 1. 2005: KMU-Definition gemäß Empfehlung 2003/361/EG der Kommission vom 6. Mai 2003 [ABl. L 124 vom 20. 5. 2003 S. 36-41]).

Sämtliche EU-Vorschriften sind in der jeweils geltenden Fassung anzuwenden.
